I'm finally back!

After a few drinks.. LOL.

Not that i'm writing this drunk though.

Anyway i'm really not sure who's reading this but right now i feel so liberated cos i know my dearest boyfriend won't be reading this :) since this has been deserted for so long!!

But i thank you for being interested in my life!!

It's been exciting, but i haven't been saying so.

No, i'm not getting married.
But i've been around Kenneth, stuck for a longgggg time.

Going to 7 years this October.

Yes, we've been through ups and downs and a major one recently last week.

But every quarrel we go through brings us closer.

Although what everyone else says is true - that the longer you are together, the romance of your relationship decreases. Haha, not gona lie but it's true. Well, sometimes we just got to talk it through to work things out right?

And the best thing that Kenneth said this week..

Our conversation:

Me: (Talking about travelling. Just random 3 days trip to Bangkok)

Kenneth: Just book it, actually I've been thinking about it and even wanted to make it a Valentine's trip.

Me: But it's so rush and will clash with your work. Opportunity cost.

Kenneth: Just book it, i can deal with my schedule on my side

Me: But you've never been that interested in travelling around with hectic work along side.

Kenneth: But my nooni (affectionate name for me) has expressed interest in travelling (during our arguments last year) :)

I felt so loved, and appreciated.

This year, my only resolution will be to give more love to my family and Kenneth just because they have contributed more than i can ever imagine and think of. You might not know cos you were young but you have no idea how much your sibilings and parents would sacrifice for you, just for you to be happy.

I resolute. To be less angsty. This is my fatal flaw.

I will love everyone with all my heart.

I'm sure one way or another, we must have felt uncertain.

Must have felt frustrated, making decisions alone.

Doesn't even have to be decision making, just an individual thought alone is already an insecurity.

It's odd that despite the confidence that some exude, there is this amount of matter in the human brain that requires support from everywhere else, to sustain that decision.

Anything non-concrete is not sustainable.

The fire has to continue burning, to keep warm.

It has to sustain. It is ok if it dies occasionally.

However, once the light and warmth dies, at its limit, it will be almost impossible to get it up again.

Even if it does, the spark will mean nothing anymore.

4 hours worth of tears and emotions

Today is prolly the worst day in 2011, maybe even 2010.

Have you cried for 4 hours? With bouts of break in between.

I did.

While tears flow, your emotions are all unleashed but when it stops, the collection of emotions turn into realization.

That's what happens.

When little issues start accumulating.

Manifest.

And the only reason, it has fallen out of range of my tolerance limit.

Unfufilled trip

The Tsunami killed our trip planned.

3 hours after the ferry tickets to Bintan were booked, we cancelled the trip.

Great we were able to get refund for the tickets except the $10 admin fee.

We decided we didn't want to risk anything although it will not affect Bintan, we didn't want those @ home in Singapore to be worrying.

We were disappointed yes, as it was a must have this year, like last's.

Last year whether or not the boyfriend's girls team landed in 1st place in the finals, we went.

He whined occassionally there :) but glad for the getaway after working so hard.

This year the girls got themselves into finals again and it was a thrashing for a finals!

6-2 :) so the Bintan trip was more than wanted.

Nevertheless we settled for some where in Singapore.

Not fantastic but it was the unwinding that really matters.

So many events thus far till March, so many ups and downs.

We foresee more obstacles in career down the road. But it's all good.

That means more amounts into the pocket!

The effort you put in is really proportionate to what you get in return.

And that's what the both of us are working towards.

That explains the many many chill out sessions.

Without exercising (shucks!)

As i'm typing away i'm kind of dreading the first working day of this week for me.

Tomorrow.

We're chilling with a mug of beer in town. And the weather is really nice too.

Looking forward to the short getaway this April and my Bangkok trip in May.

It's gona be the last day of February on Monday

As usual, time flies.

Many things to look forward to, many things not to look back.

The $XX,XXX bonus amount was definitely something i looked forward to since last year and finally got into my bank account!

I guess this is what every employee looks forward to after every year's of hard work.

This is probably the biggest highlight so far ever since 2011 started.

Another to look forward to will be the increment stipulated in April 2011.

These are just about the only joys from work.

It reminds us how it's all worth it and how deserving we are in getting the money for all the hard work. :)

I guess money is the only form of compensation for all the hard work and time.

Satisfaction yes, and although fulfilling, it isn't as realistic and as hard as money.

Well, it's just me, that i want something material.

Everyone is moving forward, some not doing too great, some average and some doing really well. Whatever the case, I hope my favourite girls do what they love, or stick with their boring jobs that pay well and pursue what they love.

Most importantly remaining humble.

I guess this is something that many cannot learn, once tickled happy by a sheer amount of success.

Have come across far too many and in person.

On facebook as well? I guess that's just the easiest way of showing off.

These people are not only proud of themselves (this is ok), they want others to be proud of them. Prolly something along this line. The kind of satisfaction these people get is something i don't understand.

Kenneth and i do look through facebook together and when we see those showing off statuses or comments, we do not even comment on them. We just look at each other and laugh and snob at these people. And has happened a few times. I am his constant reminder too, to remain grounded. Driving big cars, wearing designer clothes is not his thing. I have tried spicing up his clothes but to no avail. Am glad he is not one who is in pursuit of material things. Even though i asked if he wanted to change his car, he mentioned it has done him well and there's no need to spend that kind of money.

I guess the best form of comparison will be ourselves. Whether you've improved or not or how far you've gone, while remaining GROUNDED. :) this is really the success that not many can achieve. So what if you've got a good career? Do you have all the love you need or someone to share your joy with? So what if you have rich parents? Do you have the guts to be independent?

As far as i know, I have always remain grounded.

This will never change no matter how much i get in future, or even if i strike one million in lottery (that would be great though)!

It's coming to the end of January of year 2011 already

Time just seems to fly really. Especially so after i turned 21.

January was of drinks, chilling and horse betting just that one time.

Not so much the betting but we've never been there before to see horses race.

Stayed for 5 races and off we go with $60 loss.

There were 2.4km, 1.2km and 1.6km races

Waiting for boonhock to end coaching, come over and have dinner and just laze @ home.

Such are the busy weekdays.

The more i see the online shops, the more i wana have one! Not so much the idea of having one like everyone else but putting the mind into something else other than work, combining with what i like (shopping) and yet being able to earn extra moolah! I will make it happen, somehow :) Can't wait and pretty much excited even if it fails. But i will try my best

Haven't been meeting much of the friends out there, except maybe my usual dose of laolao @ the more than convenient amk hub. Time to hit those gatherings!

Friday is overrated.

But i totally understand the light hearted feeling of welcoming weekends after hectic weekdays.

It's been a long while..

since i last wrote an entry.

Well, 2010 hasn't been exactly the best but nonetheless, many things tried and done.

Moved out, came back, got broke and rich. Went to bangkok with boyfriend, terrible trip.

Ballot for a unit, got an amazing number and chose our unit.

Got 2 pay rises in a year. Met my boyfriend 360 out of 365 days (or so i guess, about there).

Stepped into our 6th year of togetherness.

Dealt with things @ home. Prissy going to vietnam to work.

DRANK ALOT OF ALCOHOL.

Basically both the man and i lived a high life in 2010. Lots of spending.

But rule of thumb is pay card bills or any other bills ON TIME AND IN FULL.

That's something i will stick by and never change. Avoid all troubles.

I think the additional moolah earned (through our hard work ok!) gave us more reasons to "chill" and hangout. HAHA. After a whole day of fatigue first thing first, "we deserve to chill". Therefore of course the tremendous weight gain on the tummy and thighs.

We are terrible.

Anyhow, I am back to write. I have a counter on the right column and I know not many people are reading but I still want to write and share, alot. It's really an avenue for me to type away and it makes me happy when i write. Somehow. When i'm happy and i write, i feel even happier. When I'm upset and write, i feel even more terrible but after the last full stop, i do not think about it anymore. Really strange huh, human feelings. I feel i should own a diary. But am afraid it'll be ripped open one day and my heart unwilling, bared to intruders.

I am really curious who are the few people reading besides those who're commenting.

If you realise, it's a hotel room. It took me a while to notice.

So therefore my bedroom lights and furniture will revolve around luxurious hotel rooms.

It is absolutely amazing how we thought we know someone so well, when we actually do not.
Maybe only on the superficial level
That's why relationships break and that's how they end up in pieces.
Whether is it a 6 years relationship or a 22 years sister bond.

People end up in bliss after a year, some take ten, others take a life time
Some do not even need to speak to understand another.
Understanding is not just intuitively knowing what the other thinks but really opening up with a bigger heart and having hearts synchronized.
Different outlooks cut the future road into half.
Different aspirations halve the road again
As we age and mature, aspirations take a major part in our lives.
The roads will be halved even more.
At the end, there will be nothing left to move on together.
People move on as one because of dreaming dreams, then constructing them, then materializing them and finally indulging in those dreams pieced by two hearts and two minds.

People take belief, trust and closeness to a different level.
It might or might not be the magnitude of the things shared.
It might or might not be the frequency of the things shared.
It might or might not be the timing of the things shared.
Worse still, it might be the things not shared.
What i receive, I will definitely reciprocate with the same.
It is only through this that the other heart will understand how it feels.
The pain of knowing what you thought is shared all along actually isn't.
Well, or at least i hope.

Especially so for aspirations.
It is those particular dreams that people move forward, and the point?
Together.
I do not want to follow the foot steps of those failed.

Even magnets can be heated past its Curie point.

What it is?
Is it the time of the month where i get emotional and depressed?

I'm starting to feel dejected because of work, feel disappointed in a sister, and feel insufficient in a relationship
The maintenance of various relationships with the necessary people is taking a toll on me
I am starting to feel like giving up one of those

It doesn't mean it's ok if i don't utter a single thing
It doesn't mean it's ok if i don't cry
It doesn't mean I have to tolerate everything if i don't complain

Everything that accumulates will result in a painful action.
The decision will not make everyone happy but at least relieve one of the pain.

It has been a few months since i last updated

So much has happened

I met my friends more often.. and the highlight?

Been living in an apartment with Kenneth

Yes, for 2.5weeks already

A whole to ourselves

everything's cool so far

This news might be a lil surprising but just so you know, i'm happy. (To all those who're still checking on this space) I don't know who you are but thank you for reading :)

It's a wonderful avenue for me to rant and also to share my happiness.

I will update more!

I love Kenneth, i love my mom the most, i love my sis, i love my girlfriends, i love my job (so far, yes), i love everything that's happening now and everyone who's etched in this phase of my life.

Today happens to be an exact 1 year i got my driving license.

13 April. I will never forget how i passed at the 1st attempt.

Super lucky and blessed.

You know sometimes i realise how much i'm loved by others, i feel really happy.

I'm not talking about just my boyfriend but about how wonderful my girlfriends are, down to even wanting to date me out, and how big a heart my mom has for me to let me move out without even having to argue. It was just a simple "telling her" kinda thing. She meets me, calls me. Am blessed to be in this job for 9 months and getting some increment :)

Thank you God, for bringing wonderful people to me because all of them played a part in Your plan of giving me such a happy 20ish phase.

Convocation and Penang trip the next day!

Penang

It was a smooth and quick flight to Penang.
The place where boo had always wanted to bring me and show me around.
Afterall, he spent a year there and has better idea of where to hang out.

At this point now, i really cannot believe that i don't remember the name of the hotel we stayed in.
Beach paradise?

It overlooked a mini beach with the school opposite our hotel.
The school which we were heading to play our floorball tournament.

It was good just walking around the mall and chilling and re-living boo's daily meals - his favourite beef noodles which i tried.
Not that fantastic

Walking down boo's memory lane, visiting the place in town where he used to stay.
It's hard to forget when you lived a high life.
If i knew him then, i would have probably moved over to stay with him for a year.
haha!

Then at night, we headed for a highly raved about western food stall.
It was not that clean, and not well-lit. Kinda ate in the dark.
Well, it was to re-live boo's days.
Like the past, he loved his steak.
While i didn't find anything special.

After which, we took a cab to a club.
I didn't think it was like really clubbing club and thought it was more of chilling and listening to livebands.
I didn't dress well.
The girls in the club were very well-dressed.

Slippery Soniaritas.

They showed Tom and Jerry on the two screens directly in front of me!!
I watched the repeats like 5 times consecutively while the band was playing and we, sipping our drinks away.

The next day, we were in for some sweat.

We could see our hotel from the school.
It's really near, like 1+min of fast walk from our hotel.
Such convenience!

It will never happen in Singapore.
Our luxurious hotels are differentiated from housing estates.

In Penang, on a cab to the hotel, i got a shock how the areas next to each other had such disparity.

You could see a well-furnished bungalow and next to it, an atap house.
I'm serious, no kidding. Like zinc-roof uncompleted atap house with half broken gates and adults and kids in there.
omg.

Anyway, after the tournament, boo and i headed for this cheap tze char stall in this coffeeshop (by the roadside).
The whole place is quite huge to be called a coffeeshop.
More like a hawker centre but not that much variety.

Not that fantastic (again) tze char.
But it was damn cheap.

By the time we had our dinner, explored the streets, it was dark and we were back in our hotel drinking with the rest of the floorball people.

There was nothing really much in Penang, but for a short getaway to relax and chill, it was good enough.

Was kinda sad to leave because i had to work the next day (!!) and had a long break because the day before Penang trip was my convocation and before that was on half day to run errands.

Angie

She's a darling and never forget any one of our birthdays.
Everyone else had their own commitments but she still wanted to meet me up.
It's not the birthday but on a monthly basis that we will date each other out or go shopping together.
It's the sincerity in her which i know is because she wants to maintain this friendship.
That makes me even more determined to keep our friendship.

For the rest who've walked out of my social circle i can't be really bothered because i'm also very tired like you and have other commitments which are more worthy of my time.

I rather spend it wisely, like hanging out with friends whom i can talk to and who really care or just hang out with boo.

And although on my birthday it didn't end on a good note, I still have a happy picture :)

It's been really long since i wrote anything.
It's always a love/hate relationship with regards to work.
Even if it's nothing much the hateful part would be waking up early!
HAHA. always a problem for me.
But other than that, my job has been treating me well so far!
Hopefully it'll stay this way :)

Really wish i have more leave to go on holiday :)
Miss the bintan & penang trip with boo in August!

There's just a thing about Nostalgia Yasin, at least for me.
Love that place!

We took a different ferry this trip.
IT SUCKED.
Although it saved us about an hour on land transfer, the ferry ride was HORRIBLE.

We stayed in the exact same bamboo house :)
And it was our number too! 11

Many parasailers.
A good sight while chilling @ Nostalgia's sister resort's pool.

Basically we lazed around.
Nothing much to do although we had planned for some snorkeling and visiting the fish market.
The rainy weather wasn't good for us.

But it was a worth our time.
Love relaxing trips like this instead of rushing here and there.
Hopefully we can plan for a trip next year when both of us are available.

The year end is approaching and i'm really looking forward to having a great christmas party!
Been long since i've been to a party!

Now as i'm typing away, my bintan trip has gone by, and after 2 weeks from bintan, i had a 2.5day work week due to leave.

My convocation (finally) and penang trip with boo the next day after my convocation, which was last friday.

Went to Penang to play floorball.

Was supposed to be like a tournament but somehow it was kinda mismatched, playing against the faster boys.

OH well, in any case i love the company there.

The one and only full time companion, my dearest boo.

We went to club (!!), we drank, we walked, we held hands down the roads of penang while boo walked down memory lane. We went to the apartment he previously stayed at which overlook waters. We tried the food he used to love and eat everyday.

I love him!!

However due to the penang trip i missed my 3rd game of the league! The girls won a tough match! Well done!!

And something random.

Mom suddenly called out to boo today @ my place and asked him when he was gona marry me.

Shocked him!! even i got a shock and we looked at each other and burst out laughing

Cos a minute prior to that, boo jokingly held my hand and walked towards my mom's room saying "let's go, i ask mommy if we can get married"

haha

And mom added that we should go get a flat ready and she will contribute money if we need more money for our house.

I then took this opportunity to talk to her about cohabiting before marriage cos of various reasons. Prior to this i always have the impression she will disagree.

But!!!

I was surprised. Mom gave the go.

I talked to her about boo and i renting an apartment/condo and sub-let it out so we get free-roll as well.

Mom agreed!

Time to do some homework :)

Yes, i'm going on a holiday over the extended weekend.

We both need it.

Super impromptu that i had to do my passport within a week.

Including collection!

Had plans to go Perth over the extended weekend but even budget airlines increased the fares. We reckoned it won't be worth it.

So where do we go!?

hhahahaha. SUSPENSE!!

Been busy, with work and hanging out and chilling out after work.

I need it!! I need to run to boo's comforting and warm arms :)

Got to wake up in 6hours but i'm so happy it's friday.

Time flies. It feels like it has only been 2 weekdays that just gone by.

BINTAN!!

We're heading back to the same place i went earlier late january.

This time it's not longer staying in the hut on the waters. Nor is it in the bamboo house facing the island opposite and on the waters.

I think we won't have direct seaview but we're staying in villa!! cos of availability of the cheaper houses. Nevertheless, we get air-con. Despite the lack of scenery, i would think.

But we will drink, chill, snorkel, go to the fish market, get the staff to bbq them, sleep, hug each other to death, laze under the sun!

Fat days ahead!

Got to work it off!

Took up guitar lessons in the company. Every friday after work but i'm gona skip this 1st one.

Head back home to pack my bag

Then meet Rayen (my ex-colleague!) @ tampines

Then to play poker

Then to boo's home for some quick nap

I finally took one today.

I'm already in the 2nd week of my new job and i think everything's going on really well.

My learning curve is slightly different from others so i've to keep on asking questions to be sure of what i'm doing so as to avoid making any mistakes in future.

I think my route was pathed right from the beginning.

At least for now i love the environment i'm working in although it may not be the best.

But for an unadaptive person like me, the environment is relatively good.

I thank God for bringing me to this and allowing my thoughts to come through to me

- not jumping into the 1st random job that came along,

and

rejecting a government job (it was a damn tough decision because the govt was going to announce bad unemployment and the official economic crisis at that point of time)

I'm glad all these worked out.

Most of my colleagues there have worked for 5years and above - 30%.

And the rest of 10% probably left.

The remaining 60% worked 10years and above!!

There's this lady who's in her 30s and has been there 10+ years.

It was her 1st job.

Well, of course i hope to stay there as long as i can and to learn as much as i can :)

So out there, i know there are some graduates who haven't got a job.

If you're reading this and u're troubled over it, don't be.

Because you don't know what's there for you at the end of the hunt.

Or better, you don't even have to hunt and it comes to you (just like me!)

When i tried, i keep on missing. But when i stopped, i hit it!

I didn't get a job for 2-3months after my last exam for my uni life.

Then went on to get a temp job (which i met a colleague whom i can clique with).

Worked for 3 months there and then here i am, with a slightly higher than market pay in this crisis.

I am so thankful.

Don't sacrifice your happiness for your job.

If you think u're gona be miserable in a particular field, that's not for you.

Heck the make-use-of-my-degree mentality.

You won't want to be unhappy especially in this youthful stage.

How many 20s can you live through.

We have only 10 years of adultish youth.

1st 3/5 for studying and getting to know the world.

The next half for getting to know the world in greater detail with spending power.

Being happy is REALLY x 10 important.

If you're unhappy, don't waste your time.

Of course, i'm not saying that one should go on a quitting streak whenever there are obstacles.

That's a quitter, not a fighter.

There must of course be some form of fight against quitting before the unhappiness overwhelms the monetary part of the job.

That's when one should leave.

Go pursue your happiness!!

Mid June, the 3 of us met up @ Robertson Quay, Fraser place - The Chambers for kailun's 23rd birthday celebration.

We're into the 10th year of our friendship already!

Gosh, time flies.

It was a good catch-up, with the unusual company of boo this time round.

It's the 1st time my 2 secondary school friends are dining with boo and talking to him.

A good start :)

And then Jill's masquerade themed birthday party.

Jill gave us plain masks to decorate and i thought i put in quite a bit of effort with the gold dust on it (can't be seen here). And it turned out that, others did awesome jobs!

My favourite is the red one with lace.

Pretty n classy!

After which, it was to Helipad.

Boo's and my 1st time there.

Kinda cooling and relaxing at the roof.

But not the place to go to if you're looking for some wild adventure.

And 26 June 2009 marks the last day of my work @ Sumitomo :)

Everything's going on good and on Tuesday, as a celebration..

My floorball team mate passed away 2 hours ago.

And i'm in shock. I can't believe a friend, someone i know could leave us so early.

At the age of 24.

What a journey she must have been through.

The only consolation that i can keep telling myself is that she is free from the pain she has to go through every day.

For the past 2 years or so.

I only pray and hope that God will bless her family and guide them through, allow them to meet good people and for them to clear their financial worries.

She will be remembered.

During the french fare 7 June 2007, she invited us.

a month before she discovered she was down with leukaemia.

Many events happened these few weeks.

I can't put a finger to every single one of them.
Some slipped my mind, some are too complicated to elaborate.

The one which made all of us worried was Lifang's recovery.
1.5years ago my floorball team mate started battling with leukaemia and just when she was recovering well home, everything started all over again.

I never thought much of it cos i took it for granted that nothing bad will happen to any of the people around me.
Simply, i thought she'll get well.

But things got worse till one morning @ work, i received a message saying it was any moment that time that she will leave us.

Oh man, i will never want to experience that again.

She's on the road to recovery now, hopefully soon enough to be able to speak to us and all.

Anyway, my sis played a song on her laptop and it just brought a wave of memories back.

The guy i used to admire sang this song on stage in my teenage days.

I always had the urge to go up to him to tell him. My friends openly teased me about it and made it kinda obvious, but nothing happened. It went on for awhile but died down eventually when i had my 1st boyfriend.

This particular guy was attractive (at least back then i thought so!). He was hardworking, responsible (all backed by evidence).

Subsequently we went to the same college for 1st three months.

Nothing happened.

I would just think that things will end here.
But hell no! He contacted me through our mutual friend.
Like, the 4th year after my admiration for him started!
And told me it's actually mutual and he did notice me too!

haha, but my feelings died down already and i was too trapped in my self-created emotional turmoil back then.

My point is, i can't believe something like that will actually happen!
And the song did bring me back to some of my childish teenage days.

Wao, been 7years since i graduated from my secondary school, 5 years from college and months from uni.

Got mixed feelings of getting a perm job although i'm heading for a perm job interview tomorrow.

This temp job allows me to still head for holidays at least until the end of the year. Although it will not lead me to something i desire, it gives me a reasonable salary and my own spending power and the power to head for trips.

My direct boss actually gave me heads up on taking leave for short trips (even 1 week) cos she told me it's now or never, esp more so once i get a perm job.
She allows me to take leave to head for perm job interviews and asks me on the progress etc.
So much so that i don't wana leave.

But of course that's not possible.

It got me thinking.
Money or happiness.
There are people who can achieve both in their job.

These are the lucky lot, satisfaction and money from the job they like.

It took me very long to arrange my thoughts, handle my own contradicting feelings which were alternating between this and that.

I came to a conclusion.

One that i always come to at the end of the day after sorting out my feelings, analysing my own personality and character.

Whenever i meet with setbacks or whatsoever in my job (now or in future), i will always have to bring myself back to this one and only answer that i definitely eventually come back to.

I can't really put my answer and conclusion into words, but i got everything in place :)

This answer gives kenneth the drive in doing the things he like,
most importantly, his motto in life.
Which in turn made him a humorous person who extends his hand out to anybody that deserves it,
which in turn made him a person with compassion.

It made him a better person with an indescribable outlook to life.

I shared with him something i saw online last night and the reason being, i thought of him right after the last fullstop of the entire paragraph. This is so him. This is the answer to all my future doubts. In its abstract form:

When I was 5 years old, my mom always told me that happiness was the key to life.

When i went to school, they asked me what i wanted to be when i grew up.

I wrote down "happy."

They told me I didn't understand the assignment and I told them they didn't understand life.

I finally had my 1st manicure! :)

cos i treated Angie a mani+pedi session and had 1 too.

And recently, boo moved out of his house due to renovations and we had a couple of great times cos his temp area was full of party! :)

We even had a beer buffet nearby boo's place.

Drink till you drop!

And recently, my sis's bf did sth really sweet and bought cute stuff for her.

I won't normally say this but it's really damn cute n adorable la!

And, few months ago i picked up smoking. like totally.

And now, i promised my mom and sis and boo to quit.

Which i did :)

It's good tt my mom found out cos it made me feel guilty n upset n i was more determined to quit.

YAY!! :)

I hope i can go for a holiday soon!

But the swine flu isn't looking too good.

[SUMMER BREEZE] loving.

We were back to summer breeze @ pasir ris park on one of the weekdays.

After admiring the sky, watching the soft clouds merge into an orange hue, gulping my beer and indulging in my food..

the leg of my chair GAVE WAY!!

I helplessly saw myself fall backwards and DOWNWARDS, watching boo who was across me (stunned, only to laugh 2 seconds later).

I didn't fall with a bang but really gradually and there was nothing for me to grab and in a frenzy i pushed my beer mug.

Damn embarrassing.

I heard "ohhhh, wooo, waaaa.. she fell!"

...

but noone asked if i was ok.

Arghh.

Anyhow, the scenery before the fall made up for it, in all sense.

He was really impressive and also, cute!

Angie and i are looking to going overseas for a holiday after our job ends.

Like a post graduation trip for Angie.

Hongkong was our choice but cos of the swine flu i think it's better to stay away.

Taiwan will be our next alternative.

I hope it materialize! :)

On another note, i hope to go somewhr overseas with boo too!

But it will be difficult to arrange la.

Well, time will allow everything to fall into place! :)

On a particular Friday, few days before my driving test was impromptu dining @ United Square.

Meat buffet! Lovely.

It's a place i'll recommend. Don't remember the name of the place but it's at the ground floor or something.

Then it was the day i looked forward to!

Hanging out with the girls for Angie's belated birthday @ Timbre on a cool saturday evening.

Always love that place.

From early evening to late night.

A good celebration for an angelic lady!

Then came Sunday.

Tuition, driving revision then friendly match.

Man! I was totally tired but boo made it up with a good dinner @ Sunset Way :)

Lovely place but my superb phone's lousy camera (ha!) didn't do justice to it.

Then, the much anticipated Monday which i took leave.

Driving test!

I passed at my 1st attempt!

So happy! Smiling even as i think about tt day :)

Anyway, there's this place in Clarke Quay that boo and i patronized 3 times in a certain week, after a day's of work.

A971 Contemporary Tokyo Cuisine.

Having promotion of $9.71 for certain dishes. Very reasonable with beer during happy hour!

Not at work on a typical monday like this.

And i wish it'll rain. It's freakingggg hot recently.

The heat is killing me and making me itch all over!!

I'm gona take my driving test in an hour!

finally i've completed the whole course.

But i'm really nervous cos i wana pass with just 1 seating.

I just hope i don't mount the kerb, that's all.

Boo and i went for on board a gambling ship for 2 days :)

Zoomed off after work on friday.

And i won about $500+ in all with $0 capital.

Boo went to play poker while i can't be possibly seating and watching him play all day so i decided to cash in $100 but boo decided to lend me 1st to save the trouble.

I was gone for 5mins and came back with $100 winnings.

So, it all started from that $100 winnings which increased to $880 and dropped to what i have now, $500+ due to greed.

It took me so much to tell myself to stop and that i wana keep my winnings.

Thought of getting myself a vagary watch which i've always wanted.

But decided it's not the time.

Gona use the money to pamper myself.

Took a cab to work on monday and treated Serene to lunch today.

She has been my lunch buddy since my 1st day of work :)

The area for showering is FREAKING SMALL.

I'm small-sized and i can't even turn around without hitting the wall.

It's like less than 1m x 1m.

OMG.

Although it was a short trip (the ship was back at harbourfront early in the morning), i enjoyed it.

It could've been longer.

The announcement on Sunday morning kept ringing then boo realised it's gona depart for malaysia at 9am! We woke up at 8.50am, changed, didn't brush our teeth, went through the customs, got to boos's place, showered, had lunch, he zoomed to bed.

While i psychoed myself not to sleep for fear of insomnia at night.

But...

I gave in after 6hours.

I love short trips like this!! :)

My weekends are really cool!

Saw a beautiful PERFECT, FULL rainbow :)

Great Chicken Wings supposedly similar to Ice Cold Beer's.

Prefer Ice Cold's though, not sure if it's because of my different craving levels each time.

Nevertheless, worth a try.

A cute (but frightened) kitten made our night.

And, one of the weekends fell on our 41st month!

Buffet of shishamo, mango prawn roll, fried chicken + 1 serving of whichever salad each+ 1 soup of choice each.

And the main thing?

FREE FLOW OF HOUSE WHITE WINE, RED WINE, SAKE, BEER.

Yummy oysters @ moderate size: $1

And then, boo finally did something outa what he would do normally.

Really wonder if it's those beer.

He went on the mini pirate ship with me! Well, not too bad an improvement. We'll move up to bigger ones in future!!

And, haha on another weekend was good food @ Pasir Ris park :)

Love the place and the breeze.

All these make me look forward to the long weekend this week.

Good Friday + leave on Monday for driving test.

My job has been terrib..

terribly great to me. Ha.

As time passes, I get to do more stuff and i hope it'll just increase cos this is a great learning experience for me and what's more it's a temp that i don't have to commit that long to.

Besides mommy, the next person who was happy for me and supported my temp job decision was none other than the wonderful boo.

On the day i knew that i was gona start work 2 days later, boo treated me to a good meal after we had training with his girls :)

It was satisfying - after a good workout and also knowing my upcoming job then.

Of course as usual, mixed feelings.

Because it's not the ordinary temp job. It's kinda like my 1st job after graduation you see.

But good thing there was the meal and boo's company!

And guess what? We bought poker set from changi airport cold storage after dinner.

HAHA! why would they sell such stuff?

Do they know there's a demand?

Weird.

But good for us :)

Then as we all know..

Liverpool had a sweet victory against the devils at old trafford :)

Boo and i were at seah street at this particular cosy place where at every table, there's a personal tv.

Very cool and cosy.

Best of all you can order expensive food or your normal horfan which is catered.

Not your usual horfan price though.

Before that we were @ harry's (chijmes).

Liverpool fans were all packed there.

Human jam.

The liverpool fans there were CRAZY.

They were singing YNWA.

So at the 20th minutes boo and i walked to seah street and that was when we missed manu's goal but got to the door of our 2nd chillout place and saw torres' goal.

Nice.

It was too dark, but see our own small tv?

Pretty innovative.

I guess boo took a liking for this place instantly, he decided to revisit today after he picked me up from work.

Thanks boo! :)

Last of relaxing days

Well, i'm on a temp job for 3months @ gateway - bugis.

It's a good start :)

The frequently negative me was treated to a sumptuous meal by the very nice boyfriend one day before my work started.

And also he was nice to come all the way to the ERP infested area to pick me up on the first day of my work - today!

If i know my mood's gona suck at work or if i'm gona have a dreadful day, having boo meet me at the end of the day changes the story.

I'll just keep looking forward to the end of the day.

And on top of that, my craving for soup spoon was well satisfied.

I was recently converted to a soup spoon fan.

It's really yummy and everyone should TRY!! You'll get hooked, i promise.

And also i finally tried the korean fried rice cake with red pepper sauce @ wilkie edge.

Why do they keep thinking and missing the older days?

Simply because they aren't having the days they used to have anymore.

If only we can keep the people we love close to us, such that they don't have to die.

If only we can keep the romance in all relationships, such that things don't fade away or get boring.

If only we can keep up with the consistent hardwork, such that we won't have to face failures or disappointments.

If only if only..

We should really start to appreciate everything that we have now, be it going through disappointments or failures, even more so for happy times.

We never know when they're gona stop coming and when they do, it will just hit on you.

I'm really afraid of it since long long time ago.

Even so after watching The Curious Case of Benjamin Button.

I always imagine what i'll do afterlife and if there's really God to embrace me into his heavenly world.

Mom once told me that when leave this world, we will be at peace and will not be intefering with the worldly affairs and that it'll be our time to rest.

I laid in bed last night, and the scene of Queenie [from benjamin button] lying in her beautiful coffin kept playing in my mind.

And i wondered would i be lying the same way as i was on the bed that i sleep every night when i'm gone.

Isn't this morbid?

The reason why i'm afraid now is probably because i have not experienced the world yet. I have not given enough and wholesome love to the people i should, everyday. Simply, i'm afraid to leave now because i'll have regrets.

Which is the reason why at this point i cannot understand old folks' statements of "i'm waiting for my time to end" and that "because i've seen enough".

My question is, if you're healthy and all what's with "seeing enough"? Don't you all wana see MORE?

I hope i feel this way ["seen enough"] when i hit 80, if not i'll be upset and paranoid as to which day i'm leaving for good.

In that movie, Elizabeth mentioned that her father refused to sleep and took naps because he was so sure he would die in his sleep.

But in the end he did die although he tried to fight death.

I'm curious to know, like NOW, as to how i will look at this whole death issue when i'm 80 years old.

Would it be different?

Right, enough.

It's edgy and really funky and can be worn with both officewear and casualwear.

So versatile!!

My thoughts are very random this month.

The worst part of it?

They're negative.

In all aspects.

Right now at this post graduation moment, i feel a slight negativity about job hunting but at the same time most of my feelings are mixed.

Mixture, of being satisfied (waking up at the not so early hours), of being happy (able to do what i want), of being blessed (with no worries of not having enough money), of being relieved - given the freedom less the pressure (to get my first ever real job).

It's such.

2 weeks ago, i went for health screening.

And they sent me my diagnosis recently.

I have normal high cholestrol but that's alright cos i have a large percentage of the good cholestrol that is essential.

I have normal BMI.

BUT!! I am prone to heart attack cos i'm in the high blood pressure category. But it's only stage 1.

Hypertension stage 1.

It stated precautions and restrictions.

Salty food.

Stress level.

Smoking.

Drinking.

And need to do exercise without straining myself.

I told laolao about this she replied, "But you're so young, at this age?"

Oh well, it's inheritatory so i got to deal with it the right way then! :)

Loving Bintan

The trip was kinda booked last minute.

Although i'm the kind who prefers to sleep in a proper hotel, Nostalgia Yasin was still considered fine to me (even without aircon and tv and at one point, powerpoints).

I read reviews on it prior to going there and it was labelled as "good camping with just room service"

Ha, not that bad la.

I've included detailed descriptions of the place and our random free n easy itenary just so that anyone who reads this post can consider heading to Nostalgia Yasin for your next getaway. It's cheap,the food is good, and the sea breeze is shiok x 2.

A totally different place from the Bintan trip 7 months ago where we stayed at a nice, air-conditioned hotel. Nirwana.

Super bumpy ferry ride. Literally a roller coaster.

1.5hour of land transfer from bintan ferry terminal to our place, Nostalgia Yasin.

Nstalgia Yasin is quite small by itself. I agree with what the reviews mentioned - private beach. It's not designed that way but not every body likes rustic places like this so i guess that's why it's so small.

The 1st few views of our hut, on the sea. Yes, the top left picture shows that we're sleeping on the sea!

The hut is the cheapest, followed by the bamboo house and even the bamboo house has different prices. Of course, the one with the open seaview which you can see the island opposite is the more expensive one. And we had that for the 2nd night. But it was still cheap.

The island opposite is walkable during low tide. Cool right??

Look at the nice view, nice colours of the waters and how the greens and blues blend SOOO well together. Beautiful isn't it??

My greatest fear was mosquitoes at night even though there was mossie coil and mosquito net. Cos it was above the sea, in a hutty place. Although there's a ceiling fan, it was pretty much covered by the top sheet of our bed.

After slacking and having some beer, we proceeded to the bar, ordered fish n chips (about SGD$2+ if my memory doesn't fail me). And played pool @ SGD$5/hr which we didn't even complete the hour. The table was not up to standard.

And the thing about that whole place was, we thought the indonesians made everything themselves. From the chairs in our rooms, to the beds, to the huts, to the bar, to the pool cues. Basically everything. Very hands-on.

Then we headed to the island opposite. By walking in the low-tide waters. Saw lots of clams, hermit crabs, lots of holes in the sand. But it was really difficult walking in the waters with our slippers.

After showering, we headed to Sunmoon restaurant for dinner. Basically higher than average food fare given the place we were in. Well, to be honest, i expected cheap cheap and just cheap for this getaway.

SGD$30 - kangkong, steamed prawns and pot of sea cucumber + vege and 2 plates of rice.

Oh, and the few in motorbikes. Free transport from our place to sister resort, Agro beach - where sunmoon restaurant is also at.

We were the only ones besides a family which joined us later. There was supposed to be an event going on after us and it was entirely booked by them. Good thing we got to eat there but bad thing was we should have gotten the bbq set at our own place. Cheap (SGD$8 per person with variety!) Sigh, but we spent $30 in that restaurant.

And then when night starts to fall at Nostalgia Yasin, this is what is will look like:

Then it was drinking and drinking. And we even invited a kitten into our place. Where it then roam about, till it was on our balcony facing the sea breeze.

Then we headed for bbq food and some tv. I can't even rmb what was it showing. Cos i was so engrossed with the bbq squid. It's so damn freaking good. Like SGD$3+ per plate of 10 sticks. I had like so many the 2 days i was there.

We slept kinda early. Like 8+pm to 9pm singapore time.

The time in indo is 1hour behind us and somehow the 2 days when we were there, i felt that time passed SOOO slowly. In a good way =)

That kinda sums up our Day 1. It was boo and i, our alone time. Although it was not as romantic as i thought it will be, prior to being at bintan. Well, the company we had the next day and fun with the rest of them made up for it!

Keith and jill + their friends joined us on the 2nd day.

Anyway, the reason why we're there is because keith invited boo and i to join he and his friends.

Taken at 7am Singapore time; 6am indo time.

Know why i woke up? I felt uncomfortable the whole night and i think i was fighting on the front line with one of their bravest and stronger warrior mosquitoes.

In the end, while boo was relaxing outside enjoying the blend of the blues, i was..

sitting on the bed, with the mosquito net down, busy looking around and listening for the buzzing of mossies, getting ready tissue papers to pinch them to death and eliminate the bad for the good.

Even when i moved the mosquito net where one of them was resting on, it didn't move an inch. Not scared at all huh. Pinching them with tissue papers proved too slow and i was no match for them.

Decided to switch to my hands and guess what??

Ewww gross and i finally caught one of the irritants.

And i managed to get back to sleep after i killed one of the mossies =) Very comfy sleep with the sea breeze.

And then, when i finally got outa the house to the bar to meet boo, i said "STUPID" right at his face.

Cos he locked me in the hut and headed to the bar cos i was still sleeping. The hut is locked up by a ledge and a pad-lock. He didn't lock up the pad-lock but hooked it to close the door and he happily thought that i could come out that way. How was i suppose to even get out??

While showering i was thinking of ways and finally i resorted to going to my balcony and calling on the ang-moh neighbours who were reading and enjoying the morning sun.

Keith, jill and company came and boo and i had change of rooms.

From the big picture here you can see the huts not far away. The huts and the bamboo house is about the extremes of the entire Nostalgia Yasin. See how small and 'private' it is?

After we settled in our new room, we headed for water activities and some beach volley.

Day 1 was sunless and Day 2 i was only under the sun for about 3hours and i peeled, even until now i'm still peeling.

I think it was sun x 1000.

Then back to shower, then FOOODDD.

The guinness there is cheaper than beer cos it's 2 months to expiry. It's only SGD$1.70!!

Dinner with the group. They went for the variety. SGD$8 per person with bbq prawns, corn, squid, chicken wings, satay, otah and alot of rice. And of course, the sauce (it's freakin good)

Boo and i had a la carte bbq food. Which we felt we should have followed the group for the variety. We spent about $30 more than accomodation, for our food!!

You just charge the food to your room and the total comes when you check out. Some people will charge it to other rooms la, that's a flaw of the system.

Day 3 saw boo and i at the bar 3hours earlier than the rest!! They were snoozing away..

BEAUTIFUL is the word.

And we showered, but shortly after we headed to sister resort, Agro, for some pool time and a lil suntanning (not much though). Have to shower again!! So, if you're there, plan your time properly. So you don't have to keep showering.

It's definitely a place worth taking your time off for. BUT, you got to sleep in the bamboo house, not the hut.

The hut has no flush for the toiletbowl but the bamboo house has.

Most importantly, the bamboo house has no mossies!!

I then thought 'll be better if boo and i head to bintan with the group of 6 tmr instead of heading there a day earlier.

Oh well, everything's been booked.

Just hope that we will have fun although i read mixed reviews about the place.

I am so gona kill every one of them.

Dad offered to drive me to boo's place before he finishes work at 5am.

Then i'll nap with boo then we'll head there first thing in the morning to buy ferry tickets.

Can't book online cos it must be more than 1 day in advance.

2009 CNY

I refrained myself from touching those goodies.

And it's kinda successful.

Not that I didn't have any, but i had minimal.

CNY Eve

She can't hear or speak but she's very jovial. and very funny, always.

Every year we do this during CNY eve at my maternal side.

Ang-bao receivers have to queue up to get them from the ang-bao givers.

According to seniority.

I'm 2nd there, which is kinda senior as compared to my 86 batch friends.

Ha, like i said male lead. Had to be carried in the queue!

Then the adults had web-cam sessions with my granduncle in china while i tried to trick my sisters and cousins with keith's magic tricks.

But my smart younger sister exposed me. I'm lousy at magic tricks!

And the night of cny eve always ends off with BLACK JACK.

Always the same dealer.

Cos all of us are more interested in winning the person than his money!!

It's always fun to have my uncle dealing. All his talks interest the kids in taking down his money.

I love CNY eve at maternal side. Home-cooked food, good as hell and heartwarming.

Or at least i feel this way. Unpretentious.

CNY Day 1

Off we go to maternal side for gathering (again) cum vegetarian lunch prepared by grandma.

And on arrival, one of my aunties discovered:

5 of them were in shades of purple!

And, the 4 of us =)

We were discussing about the % of resemblance and my mom thinks that the 3 of us don't really look like one another. Maybe only when we were younger we looked alike.

A huge mess, so many people!!

And 3 families stay in bras basah so it facilitates visiting. Everyone just gather or go up and down the block.

If any of my friends out there, you're single and you've had heart-breaks and whatnots and you're disheartened, read on.

If you think you'll stay single your whole life and saying this at our very youthful 20+, you're wrong.

There's always someone out there, really.

Just like my uncle, he's 48 this year and just got married last month. Although some might be worried cos the lady is from China, but like what my mom said: it's better than nothing.

At least you tried and there's some memories.

He was so happy to introduce her to us =)

and i'm happy for him too.

That pretty much sums up CNY for me.

It's over by day 1 mid-afternoon.

Day 2 was texas hold'em at Serene's which i lost quite a bit.

And then the very next day, today (wed), everything's back to normal. No more festive mood.

Yes, like instantly.

To bring back the happy mood, i need to think of my upcoming bintan trip on friday!! Technically tmr, since it's past 12 and it's thurs already =)

24012009, Boo's 26th advanced birthday celebration

The arrival of 24th. Been waiting for this day to carry out my big secretive plans.

I kept from booboo where will his birthday hideout be and he knew we would be heading to st james. [We finally been to st james!!] And he didn't know i got him a present, a useful present!

I'm so happy that he loves it and all my plans were carried out!!

A day before, i printed a picture i took of the pool @ Robertson Quay Hotel, cut it up into puzzle pieces and packed them into a black envelope. Hid it under boo's bed.

45mins before check-in i told boo the clue to his hideout.

According to him, he pieced only 4 pieces of the puzzle and he knew right away where it was!!

Well, everything was kinda rush. Slept late, woke up late, rushed to cobbler, went to NTUC to get BEER [so drinking staretd at 3pm]!!

Boo treated me to Turkish food for my lunch!

The initial plan for lunch @ Gallery Hotel was postponed to dinner cos of the opening hours - we were late. So it was lunch for me and beer and just slacking around.

Dinner was @ Sapporo Ramen Miharu - Gallery Hotel.

Did my homework before choosing this place.

There are really good reviews but i don't really like salty stuff plus it was a lil too oily for my liking.

And then, made our way to St james, Dragonfly.

I made reservation 1+week earlier but my name wasn't on the list.

The staff there were all RUDE. The place is big and good. The band is excellent but the service can just break your day. Sometimes i wonder why can't popular places have good service. Can't the consumers/customers/patrons have the best of both worlds? Good place + good service!!

All in all, everything went according to plan.

Initial 1st plan of Sentosa resort was not possible due to its availability so i cracked my brains.

Well, it was fun thinking of wacky ideas and i had fun carrying them out =)

I hope booboo liked everything and that he had fun!

Time for a good cny and then bintan!! =)

My cny visitation is always short. Like i'm done at 3pm on the 1st day and nothing else for the rest of the festive period.

I hope this year's will be a good and fun one. Today's reunion dinner at maternal side is a good indication already.

I love family gatherings and those delicious home-cooked food that comes along with it.

Well, it's been long since i was here.

My sis went for an exchange, bringing a shared camera so i haven't taken any pictures for damn long.

To top if off, i thought it'll be boring without pictures.

Well, things are getting busy busy + busy for boo so we haven't really hit any nice places or we haven't been that adventurous as compared to a few months back.

Plus i'm still unemployed, things are getting really boring.

And booboo's promise to me that we will have our own holiday/getaway after my thailand trip didn't happen/materialize. It wasn't even discussed. I can't blame his work, blame him blah blah

If i had the extra money i will definitely get away from CNY now.

CNY is the most hateful thing except for its reunion dinner which i love.

One of the things we haven't done together (although it might sound weird), is to go out together.

Yes, just the 3 of us, for a full day of fun and hanging out.

And finally, the day came when i suggested.

And we carried it out, spending 6-7hours together =)

Some bosses have different business cultures.

Generally, the older generation are more often than not, narrow-minded.

So one fine day at chomp chomp @ serangoon gardens, boo and i met one of such persons.

Read to the end to know the stall name.

We didn't buy anything from this stall selling chicken wings because we wanted to have them later after boo's favourite - hum.

But the chilli given for this seafood dish was way too little so boo went to the chicken wings stall to grab some chilli.

And within 5 seconds after he sat down with his favourite chilli, the aunty from the chicken wing stall came over and took the chilli away, saying

"You never buy chicken wings from me, you still take my chilli!" (direct translation from mandarin)

And she embarassed us in public.

I know for a fact that boo was in the wrong, taking sth from her when we didn't even purchase anything from her.

But the annoying fact is that, it is only less than 15ml of chilli!!

And there, she lost a chicken wing regular - my boyfriend.

Boo's business culture is definitely way more cooler than this.

He would have retained a customer through the most logical way and if he were to ask for the return of the chilli, he would have done it the most tactful way.

Definitely not embarassing others in PUBLIC.

I thought that his act of:

1. giving his customer (if he was the chicken wing seller) the chilli and not being stingy was good.

2. Asking the person directly: So how many chicken wings would you like?

However, he's a guy!!

So i tried to put myself in the aunty's shoes.

As a more narrow-minded woman (sad to say, than man), i would have not been happy with someone taking away the chilli and not even buying a single thing from me!!

However, i would be really tactful. I will tell the person that this is my chilli and if he/she likes it, they can have it. But make sure it doesn't happen again.

I'm not sure why am i even trying to imagine myself selling chicken wings but definitely i won't chase my customers away.

Yes, chase my customers away in such a manner.

The Singapore embassy in Bangkok called me just now to ask me if i was still there.

Thank goodness i'm back man.

Everytime i see news about the unrest in bangkok, i'll feel very uneasy all over again.

Because there was a huge percentage that the 3 of us would be there at that point of time when the unrest escalated.

Something big might be happening that's why they're calling us, booboo told me over dinner just now.

Perhaps the imminent coup, despite the news:

Thailand's Prime Minister Somchai Wongsawat on Thursday denied rumors that some military commanders, including the Army Chief Gen. Anupong Paochinda, would be stripped of their posts and that a coup is in the making, Government Spokesman Natthawut Saikua said.

Hope Lynn and don will be back soon, cos the unrest seem to escalate quite badly.

Anyway the next day after i was back, was the SIM Sports Award Nite.

In recognition of the IVP played earlier this year for both the guys and ladies team.

The theatre was filled with sportsmen and sportswomen.

I hope my drive for sports won't die down so soon.

We executed our plans!!

The trip was a blast.

Day 1, 22 November 2008

Saturday

It kick started with a meet up at 8.45am at Terminal 1.

And my mom sent me to the airport!! Yayness.

The last time i headed to bkk, i took a bus on my own, with my handcarry luggage.

yeah.

We then contributed 500baht each into the MAP fund, under Angie's care.

Reall handy to have such funds to pay for transport and another impt thing. That is, to tip whoever. Taxi drivers, bellboys, concierge blah blah blah.

22baht is a dollar to us. So, be more generous there!! It's not easy making a living there. One meal there is as cheap as SGD$1.50

Off to Bangkok!!

The flight was super uncomfortable. Both Angie and i didn't really sleep.

Except for..

Our dearest Miss Tay.

After a torturous 2.5hours, we finally touched down at Suvarnabhumi Airport.

The land of a thousand smiles

Immediately, we took a cab and zoomed off to the hotel.

Unsurprisingly, the taxi driver tried to charge us more, but we stood firm =)

We couldn't sneak the extra person into the double room.

Had to fork out 600baht more for an extra bed per night.

But when we got in to the room..

It wasn't as big as the one Angie and Pris stayed the previous time they were here.

And the toilet was damn small although the interior decor was nice.

So we went to reason with the staff.

And we were put on waiting list for a new room.

Read on to know if it was successful..

Although it was a Saturday, suitable for the weekend market, we didn't head to Chatuchak cos time was too little by the time we were there.

So we headed to..

Platinum mall!

Walkable distance from our place.

It didn't take long before Angie and I conquered our 1st buys.

My white checkered scarf, Angie's black scarf and very long later, pris bought her 1st.

Before we knew it, time for food at the foodcourt in the mall!!

Then was time to go back..

Along the way home, we bought frutis and corn from the roadside stalls.

It's prissy's favourite la!

Everyday without fail, 2-4portions of fruits.

Cheap and good. Most importantly, fresh and huge.

Then while prissy was in the shower, Angie and i started photowhoring and became slightly insane.

During this trip we bought a number of similar stuff and this was the 1st.

Aladdin cardigan, you can call it.

And we ended off the night with a game of Daidee.

They taught me cos i totally can't get it even after previous attempts by friends trying to engage me in their fun daidee game.

As expected i didn't win that night.

Day 2, 23 November 2008

Sunday

We packed our luggages.

Not that we're moving off but our request was put through!!

We were preparing to put our luggage with the concierge and then when we're back, we'll have a brand new room. BIGGER.

It was a sunday so we could only be found at..

CHATUCHAK!!

The air there stinks.

And is super poorly ventilated.

didn't head there the previous time i went so it was an eye opener for me.

The clothes there are cheap. Cheapest among all that we've gone.

But i had difficulty breathing and after about 4 hours or so, even though we didn't comb the whole place, we unanimously agreed that it was time to leave that place.

The weather didn't help too.

Whenever we talked about regrets of not getting more stuff from Chatuchak, we would only come to one conclusion

We wouldn't have continued after the 4hour mark at the end of the day. Even after knowing that the stuff there is one of the cheapest and nicest.

Simply because, it was totally UNBEARABLE.

So we took a train back to the hotel.

While waiting for the train, this is what we see from above...

It's not a traffic jam on a road.

It's a damn carpark!!

And you think this is ALOT of cars?

Look..

I couldn't even see the end.

Although we alighted at the correct train station, it was still quite a long distance from our hotel.

The walk was .. .. indescribable.

It's understood.

Cumulative from the heat and sweat from Chatuchak.

While we were on our way to the hotel, we passed by A&W!!

so.. yeah.

We headed in there!!

We walked down further and not far away was Platinum Mall.

So.. we began shopping!!

Frantic when we were in this bag shop which sold vintage bags.

IT IS THE ONLY shop selling these kinda bags.

You know how saturated the market can get when all owners are selling wholesale in this fashion mall.

So this is totally exclusive in this mall!!

We bought for family, and ourselves and got 7 at one shot!

After spending only SGD$50 on the 1st day, i finally bought something worth more than 200baht on the 2nd day.

None of us bought this style though.

We bought NICER and usable ones!!

And during this time i met an unreasonable trans who refused to give me back my money for a defected shoe.

But well, i gave in eventually.

A lesson learnt: Check before you pay.

A mistake i committed a few times even after this episode.

Thank God for Angie who checked my purchases and was there to remind me constantly throughout the trip.

And this heshe ( unspecified gender) was then known as the 'wa-se-leen' bapok.

This being, he/she told me to clean the scratched shoes with vaseline (which heshe pronounced as 'wa-se-leen' so aggressively and vigorously).

Very insistent that i use some waseleen to wipe the defect off.

Then we finally got back to our hotel room and we were DAMN DAMN HAPPY that we got a bigger room. And i forgot about the waseleen spoiler.

They gave us a triple bedroom unlike the previous additional portable bed.

We were only paying for double room. So, we got a good good deal!!

So damn happy that we screamed, had a group hug, jumped.

All at the same time.

Imagine.

I am smiling, thinking of this scene back then.

Pris, my and Angie's bed respectively.

And we wanted to head out to Ratchaprasong Road for bbq/grill.

But none of the hotel staff know where it is.

And to our own discovery, it seems that it was the road we always pass, through our walks to Platinum Mall.

We had a hard time looking for food that night and we had long long long long walks.

We settled for this:

Pad-thai, which was just around the corner near the night market beside our hotel.

DELICIOUS.

And so, we ended off the night with Daidee.

Again.

Again, i didn't win a single game that night.

Day 3, 24 November 2008

Monday

Free shuttle bus service from our hotel to:

Siam Square/MBK

We didn't stay there for long because of the prices.

The King passed us and we had to wait at the bridge and not cross.

We proceeded to have our long awaited steamboat after a long long walk trying to find the place, in the midst of shopping at Siam. It wasn't a disappointment.

Well, not part of the itenary:

We rushed back to Platinum Mall (AGAIN!!)

So, for 3 days we were there.

Wholesale prices, got to haggle BUT BUT, air-conditioned place.

We splitted.

I accompanied Angie to find her designated vest shop while she did for my shoes which i procrastinated for 2days (didn't even get it after the 3rd time my eyes laid on them)

Didn't really feel it was worth it cos of the sizing, material and also the fact that it was a display piece.

It was a mad rush for both Angie and I because Platinum closes about 6-6.30pm thai time.

Then we had dinner at the mall's food court and then rushed back to our hotel for a quick shower before we headed to AROMATHERAPY full body massage @ Indra.

Started off with a good foot scrub.

Then choosing our scents.

Then to the really comfortable room with dim lights.

Both Angie and I were in the same room so that explains the pictures without pris.

And we saw each other's breasts.

But Angie was damn honest.

Even though she was uncovered 1st in the midst of the massage, she didn't even take a peak at my topless body.

But when i was later uncovered after Angie, i realised that Angie might already be and i casually turned around and forced her to see mine too.

HA!!

Talk about difference in character.

We paid 500baht each for 1 hour of shiokness and tipped 60baht each too.

The night ended off with even longer duration of Daidee and i finally won 2 consecutive games!!

We concluded that it was the spicy and sweet cuttlefish that made my mind explode with its spice that caused me to emerge as the winner!!

HA. And it was a crazy night, with pris and i both mad. I had been drinking 2 big cans of heineken each night except on the 2nd where Angie only allowed 1.

Damn cheap and good. 50baht for one.

Seriously don't know what got into us that night man. IT WAS FUN!!

Day 4, 25 November 2008

Tuesday

Shopping at Platinum Mall in the morning (AGAIN!! 4 consecutive days. EVERYDAY.)

1st and 2nd day totalled to only about $120.

But i actually spend $100 the last day, in 2.5hours!! MADNESS.

Bought the pair of display shoes which i procrastinated for 3 days and had been thinking about it every day.

The 'last day' urge and motivation. Bad bad..

The protestors on the highway, causing a jam and we thought we would be late for our flight.

Thank God we were only 5 mins away from the airport where the jam was.

RIGHT BESIDE US at about 3.15pm!!

All of us knew what happened when we came back.

We took the 4.45pm flight and last flight was 10pm.

We had plans to extend 1 more day but didn't due to lack of money. LUCKY!!

Pris saw our floorball friends at Chatuchak and reminded me that they were still there. They are stuck! Please pray for their return soon. So dangerous there!

Now i'm wondering what happened when i took this last picture of bangkok at 5pm then

Thank God for protecting us and that everything only went full blast after we left bangkok.

And also for blessing us with fun even though we made a mistake of going there with all the unrest that were present but hadn't gone full blast.

HE blessed me not only with a good trip but with good companionship.

Thank God for Angie and her herbal pills for us to be relieved off constipation (unfortunately for me, a good whole 4 days).

Thank God for Prissy, the bargain queen and analysing queen (who will tell us if the cloth is worth it and start bargaining to get a good price for us)

HE blessed me with friends who would take care of one another and who were unselfish.

I am so lucky to be able to travel with the two of them and definitely look forward to more =)

Really lucky that we're back in a piece from bangkok.

Met protestors when were were only 5 mins away from the airport, causing a jam on the highway.

When we were at the correct entrance of the airport, we were told to proceed to an entrance further away.

My guess at tt point of time was that the protestors were heading to the airport.

True enough they did.

The news came when i touched down.

All flights in and out of BKK not allowed.

Airport shut down.

Mine was one of the last few flights before the announcement.

THANK GOD.

YEAH!!

Going to Bangkok soon.

It was ultimate sweetness from booboo today, right from this morning with his sweet msges.

It's been quite a while since i felt this way.

We hung out after his last day of serving the country.

At good cheer pub at serangoon gardens again =)

It's always fun with him!!

Told boo to pose for the camera how he would be like when i head for BKK tmr.

And we sang at this pub for e 1st time even though we've frequent here a no. of times.

We're shy and we can't sing like pros.

But under the influence of alcohol we did it, and we ate like pigs even after 3 jugs of beer, at ASTONS.

Feeling excited and at the same time i'll miss my best company/companion/partner/playmate/soulmate/boyfriend/bestfriend.

Now that the January recruitment is not on.

It's in JULY. Hell, can't wait that long la.

I shall bother myself with these issues until i come back from BKK.

Last friday was a stayover @ prissy's place.

Cosy-ing in one of the extended room.

Just munching and lazing around, watching movies and sleeping there.

And i got psycho-ed to stayover when i didn't plan to join the rest.

Got home to shower and all the next morning before i met my dearest boo.

It was a good thing i received email about this event:

Boo's mom spoke to him about us applying for a flat yesterday.

And also getting engaged. It facilitates applying for new houses.

We spoke about it again today.

Somehow i cannot accept this, cos i never expect things to be such.

I still think of myself as a kid. I'm only 22 years old blah blah..

Engagement then get married 3 years down the road.

I'm not sure if it's too hasty cos afterall it's been only 3 years of togetherness.

But i know boo will be a lovely partner.

On another note, just 2weeks ago, he told some random uncle in a pub i'm his fiancee when he intro-ed us.

Now that exams are over, it's always the case.

It's the stressful jobhunt now but i'm just taking it slow.

I hate being home on a saturday.

WE met up today!!

I love such outings =)

I love it when we decide to plan dates together, plan overseas trip together, plan stayovers together!!

I have a thing for planning and carrying them out. ALL OF THEM.

I feel happier when things are planned and look forward to them. And it can get me really all excited!!

I think it only happens with the girls cos girls are as such!

I'm secretly envious of this girl who doesn't know me.

I think she has a really nice boyfriend who plan trips with her.

The thing i'm pointing at is all the excitement that builds up when planning etc.

The girls went to Mind's cafe @ prinsep street thanks to prissy's reservations.

We played this memory game and mel won EVERY SINGLE TIME.

Damn, we cannot beat her at this.

Then, we headed to cold storage to grab the necessary stuff then head off to boat quay to enjoy the surroundings and chatted =)

Prison Break

I can't believe that i actually finish prison break in just 1.5 days.

Cool or what!!

Season 2 is a little less exciting compared to Season 1.

Anyway, last friday was supposed to hit st james with the floorball people.

We did but boo wasn't allowed admission cos he was in berms.

Very @#!$*!.

He was in nice berms and expensive shoes lor, what's their problem.

Wearing long pants in also make them sweat, right?

Boo went up to Genting on sunday with his parents and will be going straight for business trip.

He's gona be back soon!! =)

Will be hanging out with the girls tmr to mark the end of Angie's misery. The end of her OB paper!!

Not easy to get a job.

Exams over.

It's supposed to be sth worth celebrating but i can't wait for the BKK trip but at the same time not sure if it's possible to go given the situation.

Also, i wana shop. VERY TEMPTED TO SHOP!!

I NEED MONEY!!

I WANT TO GO SHOPPING!!

ARGH.

And i was very sway on the day of the exam.

I left my house at 9.10am and supposed to reach at 10am but i reached at 10.30am.

1 more second and i will not be admitted.

Stupid unexpected jam at lornie.

AND! The day before, 22 oct was our 3rd year anniversary but cannot celebrate cos of exams.

I hate this sem cos of the time.

So, where were we mugging our ass(es) off?

After we studied in church, i headed off to boo's place at about 8.30pm - 9pm.

Wanted to surprise him cos i didn't see him the day before.

So on thursday, i took a train to his place and stayed over. impromptu!!

Something woke us up.

Huge fire some where but don't know where, at about 6+am.

Pray for those affected alright?

A bad sight to see.

Studied with angie today and headed to her church. great service.

Anyway, boo and i discovered a new pub. New place to hang out. yay =)

Can't wait for exams to end!!
